 Chris Sorensen | Vice President and General Manager Midwest Region   

Chris Sorensen has been involved in the ski industry for 15 years, his favorite run is Trudy's Schuss. His most memorable ski trip at Vail Resorts was a blue bird day at Keystone snowboarding thigh deep powder in the bowls on a snow cat tour. When he's not busy as the General Manager you will find him enjoying time with his wife and two dogs; either out on a lake or hiking a trail. The Vail Value that resonates with Chris is Be Safe because he wants to make sure everyone gets home at the end of the day and can return to enjoy the sport again another day.

Chris Blackwell | General Manager

Nathan Hakseth | Mountain Operations Manager 

Nathan Hakseth has been involved in the ski industry for 22 years. His favorite run at Afton is Pandora’s Pass. His most memorable ski trip at a Vail Resorts was in 2018 when he went to Heavenly. He was blow away seeing Lake Tahoe on one side and the valley floor on the other, plus skiing from Nevada to California makes for some fun conversation and great pictures.  When he is not fulfilling his duties as Mountain Operations Manager you can find him working in his yard or having adventures with his family. The Vail Value that resonates with Nathan the most is Be Safe. If one is not acting safely, the consequences can impact many.   

Justin Folger | Resort Operations Manager 

 

Justin Folger has been an active member in the ski industry for 16 years and has been skiing for over 35 years. His career began as a ski instructor at Beaver Creek and Thredbo Resort in Australia. Justin's favorite run at Afton Alps is Daisy's Meadows - the run where everyone learns to appreciate the sport. His most memorable mountain trip was when he proposed to his wife at Whistler; a hard memory to top. The Vail Value that resonates the most with Justin is Do Right. Integrity creates a positive work environment. 

Ryan Hannig | Lift Operations Manager 

 

Ryan Hannig was been involved in the ski industry for nine years, His favorite run at Afton is Dolly's Dip. Ryan's most memorable ski trip at a Vail Resorts was a fresh powder day at Vail, getting into the back bowls and enjoying first tracks down the mountain. When he's not managing the chair lifts, you might find him in the woods enjoying nature or tinkering in his garage. The Vail Value that resonates with him is Do Right because acting with integrity is the foundation for all positive interactions.

Lindsey Thompson | Ski and Snowboard School Manager 

Lindsey Thompson has been directly involved in the ski industry for two years, however been on skis for over 25 years. Her favorite run at Afton is De's Dive. Her most memorable ski trip at a Vail Resorts was a powder day at Park City, floating down the multiple runs off Jupiter over and over. When she's not busy as the Ski & Snowboard School Manager you will find her enjoying time with her husband, dog and more than likely cheering on any of her three kids during their multiple sports & activities. The Vail Value that resonates with her is Have Fun because our guests and employees deserve the best product we offer - which is FUN!

Chelsie Miller Zoller | Food and Beverage Manager 

Chelsie has been involved in the ski industry off and on for 6 years. Her favorite run at Afton is Heather's Highlands. Chelsie’s most memorable ski trip at a Vail Resorts was getting first tracks at Vail mountain with Ski patrol while out in Colorado for her first work trip-- 4 inches of fresh powder on corduroy made for an EPIC morning! When she’s  not managing the Food and Beverage outlets at Afton, you can find her in fitting in a WOD at her CrossFit gym and or playing nerdy board games with her husband. The Vail Value that resonates with her is Serve Others because, helping out your fellow human is a noble deed, and we all need a little help sometimes! 

Riley Rubenzer | Lift Maintenance Manager 

Riley Rubenzer has been involved in the ski industry for 17 years. His favorite run at Afton is Sally's Valley. Riley's most memorable trip to Vail Resorts was Beaver Creek for his Epic Service award, horseback riding through the mountains was an experience of a lifetime! When he am not busy as the Lift Maintenance Manager you can find him on the water or in the woods - he loves the outdoors! The Vail Value that resonates the most with Riley is Be Safe. His priority is always the well-being of the guests and employees while creating a fun environment at Afton. 

Susan Tierney | Product Sales and Services Manager

Susan Tierney has been involved in the ski industry for two years. When she is not busy at work, you can find her out on the Hill skiing her favorite run - the Bowl. She has fond memories of teaching her kids how to ski at Afton Alps. She loves the memories of when they were little enough to be wearing a harness and skiing down between her legs. Her favorite Vail Value is Do Good. She appreciates environmental efforts and helping others. 

Bessy Muller | Marketing Manager 

Bessy grew up near Afton Alps, coming often for ski club. She is now joining the team as our marketing manager. Her favorite run is the bunny hill as it reminds her of her childhood days and learning to ski at Afton. When she is not busy at work, Bessy enjoys camping with her family...or more like glamping. They make their trips into a vacation full of delicious food, games and actives. The Vail Value that resonates the most with Bessy is Serve Others. She thrives on making experiences for others. Going the extra mile and remembering a simple detail can change a guest's outlook on our brand and drive them to share with others. 

Pam Hoye | Marketing Manager Midwest Region

Pam Hoye has been involved in the ski industry for five years. Her favorite run at Afton is Monica’s Highlands. Pam's most memorable ski trip at a Vail Resort was skiing Whistler Blackcomb. It was her first time skiing powder! When Pam is not busy as the Senior Marketing Manager for the Midwest Resorts you can find her on a baseball field or floating along the St. Croix River. The Vail Value that resonates most with Pam is Have Fun. Even after a tough day, she feels lucky to work in the ski industry. 

Grace Johnson | Employee Experience Senior Coordinator 

Grace Johnson has been involved in the ski industry for over a year now, and her favorite run at Afton is Monica Highlands. Grace's most memorable trip to a Vail Resorts was her first trip to Breckenridge when she was blow away by the natural beauty of the mountains. When she is not at Afton Alps, you can find Grace enjoying the lake both in the winter and summer months. The Vail Resorts Value resonates with Grace most is Serve Others because she is incredibly passionate about creating an Experience of a Lifetime for the guests and employees.
